Welcome to Wilshire Christian Church

We are privileged to meet you and invite you to share in the life and ministry of our congregation. Should this be your first visit, we are a congregation of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of the Pacific Southwest Region, whose denominational heritage was founded by Thomas and Alexanfer Campbell and Barton W. Wilshire Christian Church has remained strong in the heritage of its founding fathers and their understanding of Christ's holy gospel. As congregation, our devotion to this sacred trust is furthered identified and practiced as stated in the mission statement of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) of the Pacific Southwest Region.

"We affirm that God calls us to be a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world, welcoming all of the Lord's Table just as God has welcomed us. OUR VISION, to be a faithful growing church that demonstrates true community, deep Christian spirituality and passion for justice (Micah 6:8)."

The ongoing witness of our call to mission has flourished across the centuries. We give thanks for those who planted the seeds for Christian witness in 1874 for the establishment of its ministry in downtown Los Angeles. Through its vision, the life and presence of Wilshire Christian Church has continued as a beacon of strength-- even for this time and in this place. We gratefully celebrate the immesurable gifts of ministry empowered upon us in our extraordinary call to  be the Church.
